Directors’ Statement

The strength of the sisterhood played a large part on and off screen as we both wrote, produced, directed and starred alongside each other. What happened in us joining forces left us feeling a profound sense of spiritual alignment and the film practically wrote itself. We drew from the collective pain of being a woman and the wounds of abandonment and shame surrounding sexuality and intimacy. We explored themes of faith and self discovery, topics we relate deeply to in our personal lives having both healed from narcissistic abuse. In a lot of ways, this film is a coming out of the shadows, exposing the beautiful and raw nature of our humanness. We hope others can find themselves in the many rich characters we created and feel less alone. Our emphasis on putting healing first is an invitation for the viewer to reflect on where they are in their healing journey and encourage them to find that friend to hold them accountable.
